Cairns based Engineering and Project Management firm Black and More has announced that they are partnering with fellow consultancy Projex Partners under The Partners Group banner to be ready to help deliver planned State and Federal Government infrastructure and development projects in North Queensland and Northern Australia.
Black & More Managing Director Tony Black said that the deal and formation of The Partners Group creates an exciting opportunity for both firms to take on a broader scope of work thanks to the combined skill, experience and expertise of almost 50 staff who will now be located across offices in Cairns and the Sunshine Coast.
“We’ve known Projex Partners for quite some time; their technical depth and capacity in engineering planning and design complements our own engineering capability and it sits very well with our expertise in the areas of project and program management that we have become renowned for over the years.
“We now have an expanded skill set and capacity that we believe will give us a competitive advantage to add greater value to projects not just in North Queensland and Northern Australia but across the state,” he said.
Mr Black said the North Queensland operations are well located as Cairns is an epicentre and regional base for delivering infrastructure to Northern Australia.
“We live and work in a major international tourism hub with significant local and overseas investment earmarked for the region. We continue to see plenty of opportunities in our local marketplace and are now really well positioned to help deliver major regional infrastructure and development initiatives.
“The Queensland Government’s Building our Regions program which includes the record $20b Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program and the Federal Government’s Developing Northern Australia White Paper will provide even more diverse opportunities for our business to help.
“We are looking forward to continuing to deliver engineering solutions and enhance community through these opportunities.” Mr Black said.
Mr Black said The Partners Group would also provide staff with the opportunity to undertake broader projects across multiple office locations as well as the ability to learn new skills and competencies.
“The opportunity to leverage off the expertise of the expanded team and take on new projects will be a great incentive in recruiting and retaining quality staff in Cairns,” he said.
