LOCKHART RIVER BRIDGE UPGRADE

Black & More managed the design and construction of the demolition and replacement of the Lockhart River Airport Road Bridge. These works were funded by TCICA and Works 4 Queensland. This bridge is a vital link on the only access road into Lockhart River.

LOCKHART RIVER NDRRA – 2015 to 2019

Black & More has been engaged to scope, prepare and acquit NDRRA submissions for Restoration of Public Assets (REPA) since 2015. Black & More also act as the consulting project manager for delivery of works through various methods including Council civil works department, sub-contractors and Contract through open tender.

Lockhart River Esplanade Road

Civil engineering design and project management for design of a new esplanade road. Works included construction of a new culvert, 260 metres of sealed road with flush kerbing and concrete barge unloading facility.

Indigenous State Infrastructure Program Technical Advisor

Black & More was engaged by the State Government to advise on project identification, delivery methodology, design and documentation and construction. The projects included water, sewerage and solid waste infrastructure in remote Indigenous communities across the State.

Lockhart River Engineering Services

Black & More acts in the role of Consulting Engineer to Council and oversees the delivery of multiple civil and building engineering projects.

Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme VfM Analysis

Black & More undertook a Value for Money Analysis of works undertaken as part of the TIDS Program in Torres Strait. Our team assessed roads and drainage construction and seaport remediation against the Value for Money Guidelines of the Australian Government

Mapoon Accommodation

Black & More managed the funding application, design, documentation and construction of the Mapoon accommodation facility. This facility included 2 x 2 bedroom accommodation units, 4 x 1 bedroom accommodation units and 2 x 1 PWD accommodation units, car parking facilities, access paths, laundry facility and storage, central BBQ shelter and landscaped gardens. Council and the local Mapoon Workforce had significant involvement in the construction of this project which has provided significant economic benefits to the community.

Wilson Villa Access Road – Lizard Island

Black & More acted as Superintendent for construction of an access road leading to a future works site on Lizard Island. The idea of the road was to utilise natural materials where possible covered in a Type 2.2 imported gravel held in place by a Geohex grid system. To transverse a waterway a bridge was constructed using steel framing and timber decking.

Aurukun Waterpark

Black & More managed design and construction of the Aurukun Waterpark Project consisting of a new concrete splashpad and features (including tipping bucket) within the existing swimming pool footprint; a new kiosk and amenities building; two new shade structures consisting of steel framing, colorbond roof sheeting, and new concrete slabs; a masonry block plant room to house the splashpad pumps, filters, and switchboards; and finished off with live and artificial turf.  

Army Aboriginal Community Assistance Program – Mapoon

Black & More acted as civil engineers for the Mapoon AACAP Project. Our role entailed the planning and design of a new water reticulation system for Mapoon Community. Works were constructed by Army’s engineering squadron.
